Co-Director, Bournemouth Literary Festival, 2004 – 2010.  David says: “I was happy to have been actively involved in the development of the Bournemouth Literary Festival from its establishment in 2004.  With very little external support or sponsorship, we managed to put on an eclectic programme of events each year and brought in a diverse range of renowned writers and celebrities including Howard Jacobson, Nicholas Shakespeare, Theo Paphitis (of Dragons’ Den fame), Brian Schofield (Travel Editor for the Sunday Times newspaper), Peter John Cooper, Keith Bennett, John Kay, Mario Reading, Louisa Parker, Sulaiman Addonia, Umon Tachibana, Natasha Farrant, Tobias Ellwood MP, Mitzi Szereto, Tena Stivicic, Guy Browning (Guardian columnist) Cefnfab, etc.  The festival went from strength to strength and became a regular feature of Bournemouth’s cultural calendar.  With its strapline of “A world of words”, the festival aimed to bring world literature to Bournemouth and to take Bournemouth to the world. I believe we achieved that.”
